Hampden Park

Mary Pooley Elected Liberal Democrat Party. Votes 1230
I'M BACKING THE PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN TO SAVE DGH
Mary Pooley has a long and proud record of serving the people of Hampden Park. She has lived in Hampden Park for over 45 years and bought up her children here, and succeeded her late husband Jim as a Councillor for Hampden Park. The whole family has always felt a deep sense of commitment to Hampden Park and Eastbourne.
An active member of St Joachim's church she was a long-standing governor of Thomas A'Beckett School, serving on the governing body of both the infants and junior schools. Mary is a hardworking supporter of Hampden Park in Bloom, a Trustee of Hampden Park Community Association and she also takes an active interest in Hampden Park Tenants and Residents Association.
With the outsourcing of Eastbourne Borough Councils housing stock to Eastbourne Homes, Mary has been appointed a director of this new organisation and sits on various council bodies - including Planning Committee's and the Licensing Panel.
Mary is part of the long serving team (along with Cllr Olive Woodall and Cllr Mike Thompson) dedicated to helping residents of Hampden Park.
Everyone in Hampden Park knows some one who has been helped by Mary Pooley.

Leslie Dalton Green Party. Votes 209
I have lived in Eastbourne for nearly 20 years, originally from London I have lived elsewhere in the UK and for a number of years in Australia, both as a teacher and working with an Aborigine children in a remote area.
A parent of five children, I have a deep concern for the future both locally and in the broader context. It makes no sense to develop - in the sense that more roads and building are a development, with no thought for the future. Here in the South East we have fast diminishing water resources, our energy supplies are uncertain yet those in authority expend their energies as if there were no tomorrow. If they proceed as at present they may well be right.
We have limited resources locally and globally so we need to use them wisely. The choice is short-term gain for some or long term prosperity for all with the Green Party. The Environment must be at the centre of ALL policy decisions. The Green Party offers a framework in which the wider community makes informed decisions for all, not for developers, not for political convenience, not for profit, but for the long-term benefit of us all.
Along with this goes the belief that the individual is important, has value and has both rights and duties. The state is there to serve us and not vice versa, so no compulsory ID cards, no enforced medication in our food and drink.
We believe in implementing our principles honestly.

Ed Abella Conservative Party. 632

Ed Abella is 31 years old, he lives with his wife and son on Percival Road in Hampden Park.

Ed Abella has a strong record of success in Hampden Park, and is known as someone who gets things done.

Thanks to Ed's and Nigel Waterson's campaign the Hampden Park Post Office successfully reopened, and they have set up a new local action team to combat anti-social behaviour in the community.
