St Anthony's

David Tutt Elected Liberal Democrat Party. Votes 1913
I'M BACKING THE PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN TO SAVE DGH
Dear Local Resident,
My name is David Tutt and I am the Liberal Democrat candidate for St Anthony's Ward. I am 49 years old and married with a 6 year old daughter. I am also the current Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group in Eastbourne as well as representing St Anthony's Ward as its East Sussex County Councillor.
The local elections this year promise to be a closely fought contest. The current state of the parties at the Town Hall is: Conservative 14; Liberal Democrat 13.
I am very fond of Eastbourne as a town but believe that the Council needs to be both: more proactive in terms of seeking to attract new businesses, offering well paid employment to the town and to be more responsive in terms of listening to the views of local people, and responding to their concerns. If we are successful in taking control of the Council, there are many things that we wish to do, these include:
+ Ending the plans to introduce Pay to Park for local residents, whilst still wishing to introduce a Park and Ride scheme to reduce traffic congestion.
+ Reintroducing the popular discount card for local residents.
+ Doing more to ensure that our town is a clean and safe place to live.
+ Continue to fight against the plans to place a waste-transfer plant opposite Stafford School playing fields
+ Seek to improve safety on local roads
+ Work to ensure that the floodplain that is a central protection for homes in the area remains undeveloped.

Hugh Norris Green Party. Votes 204
A safe, secure, reliable and affordable public transport alongside top class facilities for cyclists and pedestrians is the only way to help reduce unnecessary car journeys in Eastbourne and avoid gridlock. We need proper investment in public transport, not a parking tax as recently proposed by the Council.
One of my main concerns is Eastbourne's poor long-term performance on waste recycling. I would like to see full separated collections of recyclable material from street waste bins through the town centre and seafront.
I am totally opposed to the use of incineration as part of a waste strategy and would like to see Eastbourne at the forefront of pushing for East Sussex to become an 'incinerator free' county.

Sharon Wentworth Labour Party. Votes 116
Sharon has been a local TGWU official for the past 15 years. Her work brings her into contact with people at all levels, from Government Ministers to Bus Drivers, dealing with working people's rights, family friendly policies, information & consultation rights and pensions.
Youth issues are particularly important to Sharon.
She has a close association with the UK Youth Parliament, and has had discussions with the National Youth Forums to arrange working links with young people in Eastbourne, in order to establish that their issues are addressed.
She is also a campaigner for part-time, temporary and disabled workers' rights.

Tracy Moles Conservative Party. Votes 962
Tracy has a very direct approach to life.
She is a self employed writer and a correspondent for the Eastbourne Gazette. She believes in actions, not words, which are displayed in her role as Chairman of the Kingsmere Local Action Team. This working in partnership with the police, here in Eastbourne, has successfully dealt with anti-social behaviour and drugs on the Kingsmere Estate.
She strongly believes enforcement cannot solve problems alone and must go hand in hand with support for young people, children and families. She believes more joined-up thinking between agencies with residents making their own decisions on quality of life issues, leads to results. Tracy has devoted her life to the improvement of her local community and enabled local children to improve their literacy skills and has successfully coached a junior school netball team.
Tracy has six wonderful daughters, loves gardening and enjoys the company of the elderly.
With a cheeky sense of humour Tracy is motivated, and driven, and has a passion for people.
Tracy is the new 'girl on the block', who has dramatically improved the lives of 300 Kingsmere residents.
